Afternoons were rugby-based training sessions, with the boys getting stuck into some hard graft and the forwards focusing mainly on line-out maul defence. After reviewing the Quins game as a forward pack, we decided this was the area that needed the most attention.
Wednesday was a day off and the boys came back in Thursday for a sharp team run at the stadium.
After such a positive week on the training paddock, Friday night turned out to be a massive disappointment with a loss 29-19 to London Welsh. We conceded two easy tries and despite a lot of hard work to get to their 22, we were unable to convert our pressure into points.
The team are hugely gutted about the result and we all know things need to change and improvement needs to be seen quickly. Lots of hard work will be done again this week, both in the analysis room and out on the pitch, in preparation for our huge game against Bath, a team who have started well this year. We need a win to get the points rolling this season.
I'd like to finish by thanking everybody that turned up on friday night, it was fantastic to see 7,500 people there to support us. It wasn't the performance we all were hoping for but things will change, beginning with Bath and continuing on to Leicester, where we will need all of you there with us to bring SCS its first win!
Our next Aviva Premiership home game will be Friday 5th October against Leicester Tigers. Click here to book your tickets now!
