Sale Sharks ran in eight tries to record their biggest Premiership win in six years and secure a first ever victory at Sandy Park. It was also their highest points tally on the road in a Premiership game.
"It was massive for us to get the sixth place." Said Seymour, " That is something we have been looking at for the last couple of months. We slipped up against Harlequins at the AJ Bell Stadium, so it was important for us to bounce back, and there is no harder place to come than Exeter."
Sale Sharks lost last season's corresponding fixture at Exeter 43-6, and it was 37-12 the year before, so Saturday marked an incredible turnaround in fortunes.
"The last couple of years we have been down here and been on the other end of it, so we knew the challenge that lay ahead of us, with sixth place the prize for the winners, so it was important for us to get the result, and it was great to get the tries we got as well," Seymour said.
"From one to 15, the boys were outstanding, and the bench came on and made an impact as well. We had a couple of days off at Easter but we are now focussed on the Leicester Tigers game next week."
