Youngsters enjoy Player Development Day

A 'Player Development Day' at Sedgley Park RUFC, organised by Lancashire Rugby Union in association with Sale Sharks and Rugby Football Union (RFU), enjoyed a full turnout with over 60 young people arriving at the club, earlier this week, to learn from a team of experts.

Sessions on the day included a scrum factory, a line out clinic, a kicking clinic and a backs clinic. Coaches from Sale Sharks, RFU and Lancashire Rugby Union took the youngsters from throughout Greater Manchester and Lancashire through their paces, showing them basic techniques and core skills including body positioning.

The RFU's East Lancashire Development Centre Manager, Bernie Bowers commented: "We were really pleased with the high level of attendance. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the day and we have already had lots of enquiries about future events on the back of this. There is great talent in the North West and we are keen to help these boys to realise their potential whilst enjoying the sport, the camaraderie and the exercise involved."
