Wirral Rugby Festival a Hallowe'en scream
1 Nov 2011
Wirral Rugby Club hosted a rugby festival last Sunday as part of the Hallowe'en celebration with teams from Caldy, Chester, Wirral & New Brighton - to name a few - attending. The event was a great success with even Dracula making an appearance to referee !
Chester won the Under 9 tournament, with Caldy successful at Under 10 level.
Three Sale Sharks players - wing Alex Brown, centre Andrew Higgins and second row Andrei Ostrikov - and Sharky attended to present the prizes and watch some of the games.
Andrew Mills, Wirral Mini & Junior Chairman, commented on the Chester v. Caldy U9s final saying,"It was a tough, game with some excellent tackling".
Andrew added that they are going to make the event an annual one, with hopefully more teams attending next year.
This visit was supported by Printerland.co.uk, official sponsors of Sale Sharks, who have teamed up with Lexmark to promote the sport of rugby union to schools and rugby clubs across the North West through the Printerland.co.uk/Lexmark Promote Rugby Programme.
