Sale GS at Edgeley as latest Printerland winners
6 Feb 2012
Sale Grammar School were the chosen recipients of the Printerland Promote Rugby Programme award of 30 complimentary tickets to the Sharks v Scarlets match on Saturday 4th February.
Sale Grammar School have impressed Sharks with their overall commitment to the development of rugby; their teacher Stuart Crampton and his colleague, David Uden-Price have re-invigorated the rugby teams, arranging more fixtures for the school teams, taking part in the Sharks Connections Programme, bringing pupils to matches here at Edgeley Park and arranging for a Sharks player visit.
Recently, Sale Grammar School has teamed up with ex Sale Sharks and England rugby star Ben Cohen MBE in a campaign to raise awareness of the effects of bullying.
Since retiring Ben has been working tirelessly to raise awareness of the long-term, damaging effects of bulling through his recently formed Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation. Sale Grammar School, over the next six weeks, will be examining the issues associated with bullying, particularly the impact of bystander bullying and homophobia. The programme will culminate in a visit to the school from Ben, where he will be presented with some of the work the pupils have been doing. He will also be speaking to the students about his work through the StandUp Foundation.
Both the school and the Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation are hoping that the partnership will be success and that in future other schools will follow the Sale Grammar's example and work with the Foundation to increase awareness of bullying in society.
For more information on the work Ben has been doing please visit www.standupfoundation.com or www.ben-cohen.com or contact Jill Tipping at the Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation by emailing jill@ben-cohen.com or phoning 07739 117206.
