Biog Back to his deserved status as an England starter, it is still remarkable to think that Mark only started playing the game seriously at the age of 17. His innate talent was obvious immediately and after a season with the Jets he was offered a full-time contract before making his first-team debut at 21. Since then he has grown into an accomplished wing who has represented not only England - for whom he has won over 45 caps - but also the British and Irish Lions. A brilliant finisher, he crossed for tries in seven successive league games in 2005 at the end of an incredible 12 months in which he had also scored seven tries in his first eight Tests. But he managed just two for the Sharks in the Premiership last season, albeit only from nine appearances.
