Reunited with Steve Diamond after the former Northampton head of recruitment made his return to the Sharks towards the tail end of last season, Mark is the younger brother of England star Nick Easter. Primarily a Number Eight but also capable of operating at flanker, he arrived at Sale after making more than 100 appearances for the Saints, scoring 15 tries in the process, after joining them from Nottingham in 2005. Born in Swaziland, Mark was described by new boss Diamond thus: "He is an ambitious young man with a great work ethic and will fit in well. I have watched Mark's progress at Northampton and am very impressed with him. Mark hasn't had the starts he wanted at Franklins Gardens and was looking for a new start."
