Biog The youngest captain in both the history of Sale Sharks and indeed the Premiership, James is still just 21 but has made a huge impact in what still has to be regarded as a fledgling career. Prior to the 2009/10 season he had made just four appearances for the first XV but 12 months later he was crowned not the Breakthrough Player of the Year but also the Players' Player of the Year. That came after he impressed at the 2009 Junior IRB World Cup and brought that form onto the domestic scene, making 21 appearances. Standing 6ft 7in, the gazelle-like 'Jamma' is primarily a lock but is also no slouch as a flanker, having played in the position for both Sandbach School and Rugby Club. James was elevated to the England Saxons team during Spring 2011. |
