Cumbrian wingers have played a key role for the Sharks in the Premiership in recent years - and judging by the start to Will's career at Edgeley Park he could well be the latest produced by a very successful conveyor belt. The Penrith-born flyer was fast-tracked into the Sale starting XV last autumn after returning from injury to score two tries from full-back in a friendly against Oxford University. He would go on to score another two tries in three Premiership appearances towards the tail end of the season while also juggling his university studies as he looks to follow in the footsteps of fellow Cumbrians Mark Cueto and Steve Hanley at Sale. Speaking after the last of his appearances, he said: "The experience of playing in the first team has been awesome."
