Signed in the summer from Premiership rivals Wasps, where he was club captain, Joe is a man with huge experience and no little ability to boot. A Heineken Cup winner with Wasps in 2007, he played over 160 games in the famous black and gold shirt and though New Zealand-born he has played for the England Saxons having qualified on residency grounds. Should he play alongside fellow summer signing Tony Buckley and Andrew Sheridan, he would form a part of the biggest front row in Sale's history.
