Signed after missing out on Argentina's World Cup squad, Joaquin moved to Edgeley Park in the summer on a one-year contract. The first-choice fly-half for Argentine champions Los Tilos last season, he made quite an impression for his country's A team in the IRB Nations Cup over the summer, scoring four tries in as many games. And he made an instant impact in the North West, scoring two outstanding tries on his debut in a pre-season game against Fylde. Steve Diamond said: "I first saw Joaquin when I coached Russia and he impressed me. He has narrowly missed out on selection for the Pumas World Cup Squad, and I am delighted he has joined us."
