Year 7 Students from St Bede's College were one of the last schools to receive part one of the Number Cruncherz programme.
Comments from the Teachers and Students include:
Mr Parker (Subject leader for Geology & plays for Wilmslow Rugby Club) "I am delighted to see all the 1st years engaging in rugby".
Mr Grierson (Deputy Head) "It's great to see the enthusiasm of the coaches from Sale and how they interacted with the children".
Nat Dando (1st year student) "It's a very different experience".
Maria McGowan (1st year student) "Girls don't normally play a lot of contact sports so it's a new experience. It's been really fun".
Sharks Community Trust visited St Bede's College last week, 30th June, to run the first session of the Number Cruncherz programme for their year 7 students.
The coaches ran a rugby assembly, explaining the rules of Touch Rugby, and praising the rugby ethos. The students were then split into teams and coached by the Number Cruncherz coaching team. The students are booked to attend the second part of the programme, the Financial Education, in September, at the A J Bell stadium.
"Many thanks to Sale Sharks Rugby Club and MBNA for supporting the event. Our students are looking forward to visiting Sale Sharks Club in September in order to use their enterprise knowledge by learning how the Club generates revenue and covers its costs". Miss Delaney (teacher of enterprise at St Bede's College).
