Cockermouth Under 8's Coach, Mike Swain, Community Visit:
"I'd also like to say thank you for Friday. The warmth of the welcome was matched by the professionalism displayed by everyone connected to the club, from yourself, the rest of the community team, the stewards and the half time match officials. The boys had an experience which they will remember for the rest of their lives. The icing on the cake was not only Rob Miller coming over and signing autographs as well as posing for photgraphs but also Dwayne Peel's dummy and try which happened right in front of us!!"
Ellesmere Port RFC, Community Visit:
"I'd like you to pass on my thanks to both Hendre, Billy and the community events team, for coming to our gala day as part of the Sharks Community Connections. This season, our first in the partnership, has been a great help to us in maintaining a thriving mini and youth section at grass roots level. It is great to have programmes such as this, where our young and aspiring rugby players (and some of the mums) can be inspired by meeting their sporting idols. To have the opportunity not only to meet them, but to speak with them and ask about the game at professional level, certainly ties in with the ethos of the game. And it may just inspire one or more of them to realise their full potential. Maintaining and developing this sort of partnership ensures EPRUFC continues to thrive as a community sports club and also supports our local premiership club."
Trafford MV, Carrington Visit:
"We would like to thank Richard Spencer and Pete Anglesea for inviting us to one of your training sessions. We found them most informative."
Matlock RFC, Cashback Visit:
"MATLOCK RFC's role as a community partner with Sale Sharks continues to go from strength to strength with the club's under 12s side, the latest to benefit. The link-up is running throughout the season as part of the Premiership side's scheme to give something back to grassroots rugby. Matlock under 12s forward George Barnet was at the Sharks' Edgeley Park recently to receive a cheque for £260 on behalf of the club, presented by Sharks' player Andrew Higgins. Stephen Taylor, one of the coaches for the Matlock under 12s side, explained: "The scheme has been of great benefit to us as a club so far. Sale Sharks want to get as many people going to see them as possible. We are just on the edge of their catchment area, as defined by the RFU, and there are a number of services we can make use of, now we are their community partner. We get access to their free coaching conferences and we also get a visit per season from their first team players. There's also a cashback scheme. For every Sharks ticket we sell for them - if it's for a group of more than 50 people - we get £5 cashback and this £260 is the latest to come out of that, so we sent George up as he's a really keen Sharks fan and he went to the match against Exeter Chiefs."
Buxton RUFC, Group Visit:
"A big thanks to you and your team from Buxton RUFC for your help in getting our season off to a flying start. We hope to get a load of our young players over to another match soon."
