EAS Advice on Post Exercise Recovery
This information should help you recover more quickly after exercise, and is one of the most important facets of EAS Nutrition Advice for Sale Sharks players. It is only because Sale Sharks stars are able to train more often than say 20 years ago, that they are able to put up with the stresses and demands of professional rugby. If you can take some of this advice, and combine it with some good hard practice, you will be able to practice more.
Please note that exercise and practice relates to all facets of the game, not just weight and fitness training. If you are practising your skills well and hard, it should be a tiring session for you.
Carbohydrates taken immediately after training or a game with help replenish glycogen stores more quickly.
High GI forms are faster

Having protein immediately after can maximise this
Protein also is directly needed to repair muscle tissue broken down by intense activity.
This is the recovery needed so you can do more and better training the day after
Strength athletes need around 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight per day
Digestion is not working optimally immediately after exercise as blood supply is focused on the muscles
Food that is difficult to digest is not the ideal post-exercise meal.
EAS has Myoplex and Myoplex Deluxe which are perfectly balanced post-exercise meals that are easy to digest
It is common after a match for a Sale Sharks player to take 1 or 2 Myoplex bars or shakes, and then have a full meal, all within the 90 minutes after the match. However, always remember that Sale Sharks athletes are full time and train full time.
