Over 135 children attended the Sharks Community record-breaking Rugby Camp at our training ground in Carrington last week, and it was a huge success.
The first day started with handling, passing and evasive skills, plus they learnt about good running lines, all under the guidance of the Sharks Community Coaches. In the afternoon, the youngsters played Adapted Controlled Contact games with emphasis on putting into practice what they had learnt in the morning.
Day Two looked at the variations of kicking with punts, grubbers, goal kicks and drop goals. The players were again put into Adapted Controlled Contact games after lunch, where the coaches saw some superb team play and running rugby from all the participants.
On the final day, Mark Cueto & Sam Tuitupou visited the youngsters and gave a Q&A session, before signing autographs for all of the attendees. To finish the camp, the players were allowed to play their favourite games & activities from the week.
Hendre Fourie, Sharks Community Coach, said: "It was a great success and was our biggest ever camp. All the children enjoyed themselves, and learnt a lot."
We have a camp at Wilmslow RUFC, plus we have another here at Carrington Training Ground at the end of August. For more details on how you can book, please go to www.rugbycamps.co.uk or ring the Sharks Community Offices on 0161 667 7518.
