Sale Sharks players Andy Powell and Tom Brady appeared at an RFU Disciplinary Hearing at Leeds this evening, as a result of incidents during last Saturday's Aviva Premiership match at Bath.
Andy Powell was charged with conduct prejudicial to the interests of the Union or the Game contrary to RFU Rule 5.12. in mouthing foul language and making an offensive hand gesture to spectators during the match on Saturday. He pleaded guilty to the offence.
He was fined £5,000, £4,000 suspended until May 30th 2013. He can play again immediately.
Tom Brady, who was charged with an alleged dangerous tackle following a report from RFU citing officer John Byett in the same game, was found guilty of the offence.
He was suspended for two weeks and can play again on October 16th 2012.
The Panel was chaired by Antony Davies and comprised John Loughton and Austin Newman.
