On Saturday, the world of rugby said goodbye to two rugby legends in Nathan Hines & Mark Cueto, after they played their final game for Sale Sharks against Exeter Chiefs.
Speaking after the match to BT Sport's Martin Bayfield, Mark said: "A whole load of emotions are going through my head right now! My yellow card was not the way I wanted to end my career.
"As soon as I did it, I knew it was a yellow; it is the letter of the law. It was an instinctive thing to do, I knew there was a man outside Henry Slade so I tried to get in the way. The first thing I did was to look at the clock to see if there was more than ten minutes to go, but there was 9mins 40secs, and I just thought it was typical! The boys in the changing room are taking the mick saying I'll do anything for a standing ovation!"
He spoke about how much he was going to miss rugby: "I'm going to miss it 100%. I'm ready for retirement, I've been preparing myself for it & thankfully it's been on my terms. I've been really able to savour these last three to six months, and there has been some fantastic times throughout that time."
Nathan Hines also spoke, and with a wry smile on his face, he revealed how pleased he was to hear the final whistle: "I wanted to get off! I was cramping my knee was sore, I was like get me off!
Carrying on with chat with Martin he said: "I'm going to miss playing rugby, I'm going to miss being part of a team, being with 15 blokes trying to do as well as you can for each other. But I've been given another opportunity in rugby and I'm ecstatic to have that. While I'll miss the game and stuff, I won't miss Monday's and Tuesday's and Wednesday's!"
