In atrocious conditions, Biarritz sloshed their way to a 38-17 win against Italian new boys Zebre. Saracens played a home game in Brussels against Racing Metro, winning 30-13 but not collecting a try bonus point.
Leinster were always in control at the Parc y Scarlets, winning 20-13 - just one try apiece there. Quins won 30-22 at Cannacht, with Danny Care scoring two tries and Ben Botica slotting over six penalties and a conversion.
Toulouse were beind at Treviso, but eventually won 33-21. There were two games on Friday night, Glasgow going down 8-19 before a big crowd at Scotstoun, whilst Northampton Saints proved that there are no easy games in France, losing 26-21 to Castres.
Sale Sharks were one of eight teams playing on Sunday.They came up against a Montpellier side reinforced by eleven changes, let three tries paast them in a ten minute spell, but otherwise played with honour in a 33-18 defeat. At Cardiff, Jonny Wilkinson's Toulon, the Sharks' next Heineken opponents, beat the Blues 22-14.
Leicester Tigers left it late, but secured a bonus point against the Ospreys with a 39-22 win, whilst over the Irish Sea, Munster beat Edinburgh 33-0. Last season's semi finalists haven't score a point in two matches.
