Speaking after a busy session of pre-season training, new signing Neil Briggs spoke about his time in France.
Briggs played in France for Bourgoin in 2011-12 season: "I learnt a lot especially how to scrum! The mentality is totally different - it is very forward orientated over there. If you are a forward, then you've got to make sure you do your job first.
"Just seeing the way they approach things and the scrum is massive part of that and the set piece was quite something. That was the biggest things I took away in terms of rugby - how important and how much French teams focus on it.
"I tried to bring that mentality over when I returned to England to play for London Welsh. And it seemed to have worked, with the likes of Jonathan Mills and others being picked up by clubs"
Briggs played for the club between 2005-11 and admitted that a lot was changed within the infrastructure of the club: "It's changed massively here, through the gym and all the offices which are now here at Carrington. We've also got the AJ Bell Stadium which is a great facility.
"There are a lot of older faces still here though which is great!." He added: "It's nice to be back, and I'm looking forward to playing in front of the crowd at the AJ Bell Stadium.
"When I got the opportunity to come back, I didn't really hesitate. It will be nice running out at the AJ Bell in a Sharks shirt, instead of coach Pete Anglesea shouting all sorts of names at me as I'm on the other team!"
