Young Scrum Half James Mitchell revealed that he had a great summer playing for the England U20s in the World Championship, and he's looking to progress further in the Sharks first team this season.
He said: "It was a brilliant experience. It was amazing playing in the final and we were unlucky not to get the win. However, playing in front of that many people against New Zealand was quite special.
"To play against teams like South Africa and New Zealand in the same week was unbelievable so to have that opportunity was massive."
Focusing on the Sharks, he revealed he wants to improve his own game: "Anything that I learn from rugby, I try to transfer into my own game. The Under 20's taught me to play against the best in the world so I took a lot from that.
"I learnt a lot about my game management so hopefully I can take that back into the first team here at Sale and step it up a level. "
Mitchell will be working alongside Peter Stringer and he's looking forward to learning off him: "I've been quite lucky training with players such as Dwayne Peel, Chris Cusiter and now Peter Stringer at the club. I hope to learn a lot off them and follow in their footsteps. They are world-class players."
His aim for the season is to break into the main side at the Sharks: "I want to improve my overall game and hopefully get a few first team appearances under my belt. But that's a long way off, and I have a lot of work to do."
