We know the results this season have not been as we would all have wished for, and that there have been teething problems after our move to the Salford City Stadium. Sale Sharks as a club have been listening to feedback from our fans and pushing to implement changes upon request. Following the Montpellier match, the following changes have been implemented:
- The revised layout of the bar within the Stadium Fan Bar caused issues at the Montpellier game. This will be changed to avoid problems reoccurring.
- We are working with the Trafford Centre to provide discounts for Sale fans on a match day. Fans that take up the food offers will then be able to take a bus over to Salford City Stadium and leave their cars at the Trafford Centre, easing the traffic strain at SCS.
- Alternative parking is available at number of locations including Barton Airfield, Eccles RUFC and Eccles Roosters RLC, which helps to take the strain off the traffic at the stadium. The follow screen shot is taken from the extremely useful interactive map, compiled by the Sale Sharks Supporters Club:
The full version of the map can be found at http://bit.ly/SSSCinteractivetravelmap. For more information on the Sale Sharks Supporters Club, please visit http://www.salesupporters.co.uk.
- A resolution to the problem of inbound traffic to the stadium car park. A revised plan has been tabled to the stadium, which will be implemented with immediate effect. This will reduce the number of times each car is stopped, increasing the flow of cars into the car park and reducing the knock-on effect for traffic on the M60.
Alternative transport options can also be found within the Travel plan that is posted prior to each match. The Travel Plan for Sale Sharks v Scarlets is live now.
So please, help spread the news about the alternative transport options and make our new home easier to get to and greatly improve the match day experience for the Sale faithful.
