Sale got off to a good start but gave away too many penalties at the well contested breakdowns. On a small, heavy pitch every ruck was a battleground and both sides were fully committed. Sharks struggled to find their shape but set piece dominance and solid defence gave Worcester little chance of scoring.
The second half saw Sale in much better field position and powerful attacks on the Worcester line from Sam Bedlow and Cameron Neild. Worcester managed to clear their lines and start an attack only for a loose pass to be picked up by Sam Bedlow who ran in uncontested. Sale kept up the pressure for long periods but could not add to their two tries .
Sale Sharks are happy to with the win in their first away game and pleased with the contribution of many of the players in a tough physical test. George Nott was voted Man of the Match after making an impressive debut at second row.
