We caught up with our captain at Carrington today following the nail-biting victory against London Welsh yesterday afternoon. Sale Sharks recorded their fourth consecutive win in all competitions as they closed the gap to a single league point in the Aviva Premiership, where only seven points separate the bottom four clubs.

David said, "We gave it everything we had for the whole 80 minutes in what was a must win game for us. The fans were just amazing before the game as we warmed up and then throughout the 80 minutes of the match. I would like to thank them all for their efforts yesterday and we, as a team, were so pleased we could get the result we all wanted."

Co-owner Ian Blackhurst, who was watching the game yesterday, also gave praise to the fans that made the trip down to the Kassam Stadium. Ian said, "The support shown by the band of travelling fans was phenomenal - you could tell the difference it made to the performance on the pitch."

David continued, "The support at the Salford City Stadium against Exeter was very special too and rest assured we will be preparing for Friday's game against Harlequins and hope we can get a result there too."
