As part of a broader commitment to continue to back the communities that have helped them get to where they are today, MBNA is embarking on a range of charity commitments in 2013 - and MBNA's Chief Executive and a number of his colleagues are taking their own personal challenges to new heights. Literally!
On June 8th this year, MBNA Chief Executive Ian O'Doherty along with 30 other MBNA staff, will embark on the 2013 Crowfoot Walk for charity. Ian O'Doherty spoke in advance of trek, which covers 42km (26.1 mls) and nearly 1,600m (5,249ft) of ascent and descent in less than 12 hours. He'll also need to scale the mountains of Whernside (736m or 2,415ft), Ingleborough (723m or 2,372ft) and Pen-y-ghent (694m or 2,277ft) - The Yorkshire Three Peaks - along the way.
"The walk has been part of the MBNA and Bank of America's annual charitable fundraising activities for most of our 20-year history in the UK", Ian said. "This year we'll be raising money for Clatterbridge Cancer Charityand North East Wales Search & Rescue, so two very worthy causes. Any and all donations gratefully accepted!"
