Sale Jets recorded a convincing win over Northampton at Heywood Road last night ending the Midland sides three match unbeaten run.
The Jets put in a very physical performance and reaped the benefits.
Northampton scored the first try but a Chris Johnson drop goal followed by a Mark Jennings try and Nathan Fowles conversion put the Jets into the lead after 12 minutes.
Northampton were awarded a penalty try 10-12. Nathan Fowles restored the Jets lead with two penalties and just before the break Mark Jennings battered his way over for his second try. Nathan Fowles converted at the Jets left the field to a round of applause leading 23-12.
Nathan Fowles opened the second half with a well taken try 28-12.
Northampton were not finished though and closed the gap on 54 minutes with a converted try 28-19.
On 65 minutes Nathan Fowles scored his second try of the evening which Chris Johnson narrowly missed converting when the ball struck the upright 33-19.
In the final minute full back Mike Haley scored after a fast flowing move and Johnson converted.
