HITZ Sale Sharks celebrates success as one of the programme's graduates, Inaam Mohammed, secures full-time employment.
"HITZ has helped me gain more qualifications and better grades through the learning side of the programme with YMCA Training. Working with Tom (Tom Leader, HITZ Sale Sharks Programme Officer), I have also become fitter and healthier through the rugby, boxing, football and gym sessions that I have taken part in." explained Inaam.
"The programme has helped me be more enthusiastic and confident in myself which I feel has really contributed to me getting the job with Timpsons.
HITZ Sale Sharks has been running since September 2012 and Inaam has been involved with Premiership Rugby's award-winning HITZ Programme since January 2013. In that time he has completed the YMCA Foundation Learning Course as part of the programme including modules on numeracy, literacy, IT, life skills and employability (CV writing, interview skills, learning to complete applications etc).
The Foundation learning course also included a work placement at Timpsons which helped to build Inaam's confidence and skills after he did not achieve at school and has led to a full-time job at Timpsons in Manchester.
Branch Manager at Timpsons, Steve Melville is impressed with Inaam's work: "Inaam is always on time and interacts well with customers. He's helpful and always polite.
"He works hard even when there are no customers in the shop, and is happy to clean up and sort goods out. He's taken to the job really well and is a joy to work with."
