SALE have been handed a twin boost ahead of Saturday's trip to league leaders Saracens with the news that both Ross Harrison and Nick Macleod have pledged their long-term futures to the club.
Rising young front-row star Harrison, 21, who many have tipped to go to play for England at Test level, has agreed a new three-year deal with the Sharks.
And Welsh fly-half Macleod, 30, who has been with Sale since 2008, has committed to a two-year extension with the club.
Sharks director of rugby Steve Diamond is hoping the good news about the duo will be followed by several more contract renewals in the coming weeks as he looks to retain the bulk of the squad which has made an excellent start to the new campaign.
And Diamond couldn't contain his delight at retaining the services of both Harrison and Macleod.
"As far as Nick is concerned, he's a model professional who has been at the club for five years now and he's a great player at number 10," said the Sale boss.
"His kicking statistics are high and we are really glad that he has agreed to stay on for another two years with us.
"As regards Ross, he comes out of the Henry Thomas, Tommy Taylor and James Gaskell camp.
"He's a really positive lad who always gives his all for the club. He's been learning a lot off the Fridge (fellow prop Eifion Lewis-Roberts) and we see a massive future for him.
"He's definitely got a full representative future with England ahead of him if he carries on in the way he's going."
