On Monday four our our HITZ learners started work placements with the Timpson Foundation. Two learners are based in Timpson's and two in Max Speilmann at different locations in Manchester. The four learners will be on the placement for 6 weeks working 3 days a week which we hope will give them a great taste of working life and the opportunity to learn new skills which they will be able to use in the future.
The learners that have been chosen for this opportunity are Inaam Mohammed aged 17 from Cheetham Hill, Rachel Senior aged 17 from Collyhurst, Shaquelle Absalom aged 17 from Collyhurst and Boris Kenfack aged 18 from Blackley.
A quote from Inaam about the work placement opportunity 'I am really looking forward to working at Timpsons, it is a chance for me to learner new skills and get a job with them if I do really well.'
A big thankyou must go to The Timpson Foundation for offering this opportunity to these young people and hopefully more collaboration can happen in the future between the both of us.
HITZ is the award winning programme delivered by Aviva Premiership Rugby Clubs and funded by national partners Comic Relief and Wooden Spoon. The programme works to initiate behaviour change and foster confidence in disenfranchised young people aged 11 to 19 from challenging backgrounds; encouraging them to remain in or re-enter education, undertake apprenticeships or vocational training and enter paid employment.
