Sale Sharks Director of Rugby, Steve Diamond has been shortlisted for the Guinness Director of Rugby of the Season accolade.
Dimes is in good company, nominated alongside Saracens' Mark McCall, and Leicester Tigers' Richard Cockerill.
After a turbulent 2012/13 season, Steve Diamond has turned it around, with Sharks now guaranteed top-flight European rugby next year. Now guaranteed to finish in at least 6th place, the team is a long way away from where they were last season.
Sale Sharks would like to congratulate Steve Diamond on his nomination, alongside Dan Braid, who is also shortlisted for Player of the Season.
Captain Dan Braid's performances have been monumental throughout the season, and his leadership has been second to none on the field.
Steve Diamond said of his nomination: "I am delighted to be short listed for the award. We've been able to compete with the top teams in the league this year, and reached our first European quarterfinal for the first time since 2008. We're now looking to finish the season strongly and have a break before we start planning for next season"
Tommy Taylor is one of three Sale players who could potentially be running out on Sunday at Twickenham when England take on the Barbarians. We managed to catch Tommy for a chat during a break in training and he told us about the long road back after injuring his knee last May in the corresponding fixture.
Peter Stringer signed for the club last week and he joins an illustrious list of Sharks scrum-halves and has to do a lot to be at the top of this list. We've ranked the Top Five No. 9s who have pulled on the Sharks shirt.
