The players returned to Carrington on Monday morning to start their pre season training. One player however who has been in most days since the season ended is Dan Braid who is undergoing rehabilitation on his knee injury sustained in the pre game build up at Bath in March.
Dan said, " The knee is improving with every session I do. I have not started running on it yet but that will be taking place very soon."
One player who Dan met for the first time on Monday was new signing Nathan Hines. Dan said, " I have never played against Nathan but he is a real athlete, putting in extra time on everything we do. Nathan is going to be a great addition to the squad."
Asked about the All Blacks tour that the England team have just taken part in Dan said, " I thought England were very competitive in the first two games but the All Blacks upped the pace in the final test and England were well beaten. I was impressed with Danny Cipriani on the tour, he didn't get a lot of game time in the Tests but when he came on he showed what he can do. His display against Crusaders was Danny at his best and he should be proud of his efforts on the tour."
We asked Dan on his thoughts on the Aviva Premiership Final between Northampton and Saracens. Dan said, "I was glad that Northampton won, they play an attractive brand of rugby and are very positive. It was a massive clash between the best two teams in the Premiership and great to watch."
Finally we discussed the European draw that pitches Sale Sharks in with Munster, Clermont and Saracens. Dan said, "That is one tough group, but it's tough for all the teams and we aim to do as we did last year and fly under the radar. At the AJ Bell Stadium we will be difficult to beat and I believe we are capable of causing a surprise or two!"

Following his tour of New Zealand with England Danny Cipriani was interviewed my GiveMeSport and had lots to say about the tour and next season. Danny said, "I've just got back from my holiday, and it was good to get a break in the sun and spend some time abroad with my good mate James [Haskell]. He is a top lad."
The balmy summer weather and pre-match hype in the Manchester Evening News and on BBC Radio Manchester ensured a good crowd turned up to watch a classic football v rugby cross code challenge as the Sale Sharks Supporters Club and Sale Sharks Community Coaches took on an Altrincham FC Supporters and staff side at the neutral sport of T20 cricket; a match sponsored by Plas Coch to open the Ashley Beer and Food Festival.
