Sale Sharks are delighted to announce the signing of Georgian Hooker Shalva Mamukashvili.
Director of Rugby Steve Diamond said, " With the knee injury Tommy Taylor sustained playing for England against the Barbarians keeping him out for six months I decided to bring in a top class hooker to add to the squad. Shalva is the current Georgian starting hooker who is very abrasive and aggressive in defence. He speaks fluent English and will also have Vadim Cobilas and Andrei Ostrikov to help him settle in. We have applied for the necessary Visa and Work Permit and hopefully all the formalities will be completed quickly."
Shalva currently plays for Armia(Georgia) and was born in Tbilisi on 2nd October 1990.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Sale boss Steve Diamond believes that some good old-fashioned home comforts can help drive the Sharks to a second successive top-six Premiership finish this season.
As England host the Rugby World Cup, the multi million selling soprano, Laura Wright, who is known to millions as the official anthem singer of the England Rugby Team will be getting behind all things rugby this February, continuing her support for the RFU's All Schools rugby campaign.
