Webber Says Squad In Buoyant Mood Ahead of Wasps

The 30-year-old front-row forward is also preparing to make his 150th Premiership appearance, having spent seven seasons at Wasps before joining Bath for four years.

He joined Sale in the summer but has been limited to just eight Premiership appearances after fracturing a bone in his arm on the opening day of the season.

"It's been incredible. I've faced different circumstances at each club but there have been lots of highlights," he said.

"Hopefully I'll enjoy it out there on Sunday. It's a nice milestone to have."

Premiership leaders Wasps visit the AJ Bell Stadium on Sunday where they have not won in their last seven attempts, but the hooker knows the threat they pose.

"When you get a win it puts smile on people's faces, and you turn up for work happier," he revealed.

"We're not kidding ourselves, we know there is still plenty to work on and in a way, that's a good thing. We have a lot to do to be the team we want to be.

"We're in a much better place now than we were a month ago, that's the main thing.

Wasps lead the league table by a five-point margin, and have already played the Sharks twice this season, who sit in tenth.

An Anglo-Welsh Cup game saw Sale run out 17-13 winners at the AJ Bell Stadium, before the Coventry side won 34-24 at the Ricoh Arena in November.

"It's a really big challenge. They've got a great squad and they've recruited exceptionally well," said Webber, an ex-Wasps player.

They've been working to get where they are now over the past two or three years under Dai Young. He's done a great job with them but we're confident with where we're at and we're looking forward to having them up here."
