The home side are joined by Leicester Tigers, Northampton Saints and Premiership new boys London Welsh as they seek to emulate last year's achievement by progressing to the Finals night at Bath on August 3rd.
Sharks will again be coached by Pete Anglesea, who commented, "Sevens Rugby has an important role to play in our club.We have a number of players, of various ages, with international and Commonwealth Games experience of the short-sided game."
Jordan Davies is hoping to appear in the tournament for the third year in a row.The centre, who enriched his matchday experience with a spell at Leeds Carnegie last season, said, "It was a good night at Edgeley Park last July. Sevens is 'Running Rugby' in its truest sense. You've got to take the tackles and keep the ball."
Henry Thomas made his first appearance as a Sale Shark in the JP Morgan Sevens two years ago. The mobile tighthead prop, recently included in the England Saxons squad, said, "I love playing Sevens. I played through my days at Millfield School, and was included in the JP Morgan squad when I joined the club. Sevens helps develop passing skills, spatial awareness and defence, all transferable to the fifteen-a-side game."
The Sevens will also be the last rugby at Edgeley Park before Sale Sharks make the move to Salford City Stadium and the club are expecting a bumper crowd to say goodbye to the ground where they played for nine years.
