Looking ahead to the game, Sale Sharks' Director of Rugby Steve Diamond said, "Confidence is high but we have to manage our expectations a little bit. If we play in the first half at Kinsgholm like we did in the first 40 minutes against Bath, we'll be 20 points behind.
"There is no resting on our laurels - from the start on Saturday we have got to be top drawer. We know it will be very difficult, given the passionate support that Gloucester enjoy.
"They are brilliantly coached by Johan Ackermann, who has made a massive difference since coming in there last summer. Looking back, I think our 57-10 scoreline in September was a bit of a freak result and I said so on the night.
"What Johan Ackermann has managed to do is build from that day onwards and they have got progressively better since then."
