Lee Imiolek: strong performance including a try

Academy continue successful run

Sale Sharks' Under-19 Academy side continued the recent successful run by the club's junior sides, defeating Leeds Carnegie 17-5 at Heywood Road in an enthusiastic but error-strewn encounter. The Sale youngsters scored their three tries within the first 26 minutes through Jonny Kennedy, Lee Imiolek and Ryan Glynn, Jack Turton converting the first. In reply, Harry Hannon scored the visitors' consolation try with 51 minutes gone. There was a long delay whilst Leeds' flanker Joe Quinn received attention before being stretchered off. He was later taken to hospital for precautionary checks.
