Five Dragons To Watch Away This Friday

SaleSharks.com previews five Newport Gwent Dragons game breakers to watch ahead of the Sharks’ LV= Cup clash against the Welsh side this Friday night at Rodney Parade.


1. MARTYN THOMAS is a pacy, attacking full back aged 22. Martyn joined the Dragons in the middle of season 2006-7. As a Wales Under 20 international, Thomas was formerly with UWIC and was a Scarlets regional player.



2. JAMES ARLRIDGE plays fly half and joined the Dragons in 2008. Although born in New Zealand, Arlridge is a Japanese international, with a record of 117 points scored in 11 games for his adopted country.






3. STEVE JONES is one of the Dragons' more experienced players. Born in Neath, Steve is now 32, having joined at the inception of regional rugby in Wales. An experienced hooker with 5 Welsh caps, Steve has played for Ebbw Vale, Neath, Newport and Pontypool.






4. ROBERT SIDOLI has been capped 42 times by Wales. Born in Merthyr Tydfil 30 years ago, Robert has played club rugby for Merthyr, Pontypridd, Neath and Bristol, whilst representing the defunct Celtic Warriors, Cardiff and Newport Gwent Dragons at regional level.






5. LEWIS EVANS is a mobile, athletic number 8 and regarded as one of the region's most talented up-and-coming youngsters. Capped by Wales at Under 20 level, he also coaches the Gwent & District Under-15 side.
