Will Cliff - first try at Leeds
Jets lose 31-15 at Leeds
Monday, March 22nd 2010
Sale Jets fell victim to a first half blitz against Leeds Carnegie in tonight's Guinness 'A' League game at West Park, trailing 26-8 at the break. After an early penalty by Jordan Davies, fly half Will Cliff scored an excellent try.
The second half was a much closer affair, with the Jets more than holding their own for long spells. A brilliant individual effort by Oriol Ripol, converted by Jordan Davies pulled the score back to 26-15, but a try by Leeds fullback Goodridge with four minutes left ruined any hope of a 'losing bonus' point.
Earlier tryscorers for Leeds Carnegie were Hepworth, Armstrong, Zeiss and Strange, who also kicked three conversions.
