Sale Sharks Start The Guinness Premiership TONIGHT

Sale Sharks begin the Guinness Premiership season this evening at home for the first time in four years after they beat Newcastle Falcons 26-25 back in September 2005.

The 2009/10 season looks set to be an exciting one for Sale Sharks as they start the season against defending champions Leicester Tigers tonight! Tigers have set a high standard by winning their own opening matches for the last four seasons. Their only loss in the last eleven Guinness Premiership encounters was 10-14 at Newcastle on 27th March.

Sale Sharks will be setting off the season with tough competition tonight but with a huge home crowd support and Sharks’ Captain, Dean Schofield, and Co-Captains, Charlie Hodgson and Mark Cueto leading the game we are well on the way to a potential victory!

The Supporters Village marquee will be open from 5.30PM until kick off at 7.45PM.

Homemade beef stew will be for sale and a full range of beers, wines and soft drinks will be available from the Supporters Village. The selection of beers on offer will include Green King IPA, the Official Beer of Sale Sharks, Heineken and Guinness. There is also a FREE raffle in marquee to win a signed jersey. All you need to do is buy a drink and you will be given a raffle ticket. The draw will take place at 7.20PM tonight.

There will also be a Pre-Match Interview with a player in the Supporter's Village before the game. Don't miss it!

The pre-match entertainment this evening is provided by renowned Classical singer, Jon Christos and Jenny Williams. Jon has sung at the FA Cup Final, Calcutta Cup and The Heineken Cup Final. Jon and Jenny will be singing on the pitch at 7.25PM.
