SHARKS MADE IT THREE OUT OF THREE during the International window as they registered their seventh successive victory. The game, played on a frost-topped surface, had some unusual moments, including three yellow cards and a debutant who never played, as tries by Taylor and Lund saw the table topping Sharks home against a typically robust Tigers side.

Flanker Tom Croft's involvement with Dean Schofield after five minutes saw him sent to the sin bin, Daniel Larrechea slotting home first of three penalties within 18 minutes. Home skipper Jason Robinson brought the frozen crowd to its feet with a mazy 45-metre run directly from a restart, but Courrent allowed Hipkiss to charge forward. Dean Schofield saved the day with a vital tackle, which was the prelude to a period of sustained pressure from the Tigers. Ross Broadfoot scored two penalties, the second coming from a puzzling decision against Mark Taylor.

Todd, Ripol and Robinson were prominent in the build up before Daniel Larrechea set up Mark Taylor's first try for the club on 35 minutes, Courrent converting to open up a ten-point lead. The only further score of the first half was another Broadfoot penalty after flanker Taione was deemed to have committed a high tackle.

The second half was only two minutes old when Sharks scored another try. Taione, Larrechea and Ripol produced moments of magic to allow the impressive Magnus Lund to cross over. Leicester prioduced a number of strong downfield bursts throughout the match, but were denied by resolute Sharks' defence, particularly from Ripol and Larrechea. Valentin Courrent eased the Sharks further ahead on 54 minutes with a penalty; the scoring ceased for almost twenty minutes until substitute centre Matt Cornwell scored a try with five minutes left, Goode converting.

Yellow cards for Bonner Evans (professional foul) and Stewart (killing the ball) put the Sharks under further pressure, and produced a "What happened next?" moment when David Tait entered the field on 78 minutes for his debut, but was instantly replaced by Ben Coutts before the re-start, a prop being required for a scrum.

The individual cameos were spread throughout a splendid team performance. Wingers Ripol and Robinson impressed, Todd was forceful, Taylor had a good game, whereas up front Coutts continued his improved form, Titterrell was his lively self, Schofield was solid and Lund wide-ranging in his play.

Scoring: (Sharks first) 3-0, 6-0, 9-0, 9-3, 9-6, 16-6, 16-9 (half time) 21-9, 24-9, 24-16.

Extra front row replacement to replacements below: Coutts for Tait (78).
