With 15 years as a professional rugby league player, playing in Super league for Oldham Bears, Darren began a career in coaching, leading Leigh to a grand final win and subsequently promoting the team to Super league level for the first time in club history.

He currently coaches Warrington's rugby union Junior Colts and the young team has won the Lancashire cup in five successive years and has been crowned national club champions.
