Beaumont, son of former England captain Bill, joined the Sharks in the summer of 2012 on a dual-registration deal with Fylde after a spell in the Newcastle Falcons academy. He made his Sale debut in January 2013, but his hopes of making a first-team breakthrough last season were wrecked when he sustained a long-term knee injury 19 minutes into his only appearance. Though he favours playing in the second row, he made his debut at Number Eight. At the time, Beaumont was still studying and had captained England Students.
Josh Beaumont's season has been a highlight for the Sharks this season as the big Number 8 has nailed down his first team place after a tremendous season. After his impressive campaign Josh was awarded with the Player's Player of the Year award last weekend.
