Player Biog

One of two Sale players nominated for the Gatorade Game Changer of the Season in 2011/12, Rob Miller had a brilliant second season with the Sharks and is widely regarded as one of the hottest properties in English rugby.

A talented and versatile back, his move to the Sharks from Newcastle in the summer of 2010 was followed by him making a career-high 12 appearances in the Premiership in the following season.

With 10 tries in 21 league matches last season, he won the Guinness Top Tryscorer trophy, joined Andy Powell among the nominees for the Game Changer award and landed a call-up to the England Saxons squad.

Capped by England at U16 and U18 level, he then helped the U20s to the final of the IRB U20 World Cup and played alongside fellow Shark James Gaskell in the U20 World Cup.

Formerly with Aspatria, Steve Hanley’s old club, Rob was regarded primarily as a fly-half who could also play in the centres, but it is in the No 15 shirt that he has made the biggest impact.
