Nick Macleod joined the Sharks in the summer of 2008, after seven years in Cardiff. He has been a first-team regular, making 21 Premiership appearances last season and scoring in excess of 230 points.

And he was rewarded for his most impressive season as a Sale player to date with a new two-year contract.

A versatile performer, Nick played fly-half, centre and full-back in his 80 games for the Blues, scoring more than 200 points in the process.

After impressing for the Cardiff U21 side and playing for Wales U21s, Nick made his debut for the senior team against Cambridge University in 2001 but then had to wait until 2003 to ascend to the first-team set-up on a permanent basis.

When he did return, he made a try-scoring debut for the newly-formed Blues against Glasgow in September 2003 and by 2006 he had been called into the senior Wales squad.
