Graduating from Sheffield Hallam in 2010 with a degree in Sport and Exercise Science, Ryan volunteered at Bradford Bulls, working within the academy team and analysing post match footage.
With the experience gained at Bradford Bulls, he began a performance analyst internship at Sale Sharks and throughout the 2011/12 season, worked with the first team and Jets, alongside lead analyst Hugh Jenner. He assisted with all aspects of the analysis, including improving the techniques and processes used within the club.
Ryan's successful stint at the club has led to him becoming a permanent fixture of the team, as Assistant Performance Analyst. His role involves working with the first team and Jets, as well as overseeing the new academy analysis, which has been largely funded by the Sale Sharks Supporters Club.
