Our Preview for Final Home Game!

Our Preview for Final Home Game!

Sale Sharks entertain Newcastle Falcons at the AJ Bell Stadium this Saturday afternoon, kick off 2pm, in their final Aviva Premiership home game of the season.

The Sharks still have a slim possibility of finishing in the Top Six of the Aviva Premiership, although a lot will depend on other club’s fortunes around them.

The game is Mark Cueto’s last ever home game in a Sale Sharks shirt before he retires and becomes the club’s first ever ambassador. The game will be Mark’s 303rd game in a Sharks jersey. His first home game back in 2001 was against Newcastle Falcons at Heywood Road and fittingly his final home game will also be against Newcastle Falcons.

The game is also the clubs 50th competitive game at the AJ Bell Stadium, since the club moved their in 2012. They have won 29 games and lost 20, and scored 1095 points at the stadium, with 124 tries being scored!

Sale won the game at Kingston Park back in November (18-13) when Danny Cipriani created one of the tries of the season that was scored by Johnny Leota.

Newcastle go into the game not having won in their last 8 games but many fans will remember their last visit to the stadium back in September 2013 when they won 15-14.

THERE WILL BE A WELCOME RETURN OF THE BLUES BROTHERS TRIBUTE ACT PERFORMING LIVE OUTSIDE PRE-MATCH OUTSIDE THE FANS BAR, AND £3 A PINT OF FOSTERS ALL DAY.

PLEASE NOTE WITH THE ROADWORKS IN PLACE ON THE M60 AND ON THE A57, SUPPORTERS ARE ADVISED TO MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ARRIVE AT LEAST TWO HOURS PRIOR TO KICK OFF.
