Hospitality & Account Manager

Born in Manchester and proud of our roots, Sale Sharks is the only Premiership Rugby Union team in the North-West, playing top-flight rugby in the Gallagher Premiership and European Champions Cup, with an emerging Women’s team competing in the Allianz Premier 15s. Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Leading the full management of the Sale Sharks match day hospitality from start to finish. Including but not limited to:

• Drive the evolution of hospitality to become the best sports hospitality experience in the region, working with marketing and sales to push new ideas to keep learning and improving season-on-season

• Planning of the home match day hospitality experience across L2 and L3, including F&B, entertainment, branding, atmosphere, and general impression, ensuring all guests receive a first-class service from booking to game day

• Work closely with the Stadium Operations Manager to ensure all sponsorship hospitality rights are facilitated across the season

• Lead the hospitality team on home match days, collaborating with the Stadium Operations Manager, stadium team, hostesses and tech teams to ensure a best-in-class experience for guests

• Work with finance to ensure all hospitality payments are received and tracked in a timely manner, reconciling payments v bookings and tracking to sales targets

• Tracking of guest bookings each game, providing sales reports to the team in weekly meetings
Sales of Sale Sharks match day hospitality. Including but not limited to:

• Selling of seasonal hospitality to drive increased revenue YOY and achieve a high retention rate season to season

• Selling of Match-by-Match hospitality to achieve sales revenue targets each season, achieving YOY growth

Events

Supporting the Event & Partnerships Manager with creation and delivery of all internal and external events from start to finish. Including but not limited to:

• Delivery of Business Club, Golf Days, Away trips, Rugby festivals, Conferences, End of Season awards, Charity events and any ad hoc event requirements through the on and off-season

Sponsorship

Supporting the Event & Partnerships Manager with management of the Club sponsorship portfolio. Including but not limited to:
• Account Management of sponsorships to build collaborative plans and activating rights across the season

• Content planning and scheduling of contractual rights to create 3 month rolling schedules for sponsorships

• Analysis of sponsorship activations, reporting broadcast and social performance and value for sponsorship placements, presenting monthly updates

• Support with compilation of half season and full season reports PCAs, arranging half season and full season review meetings to discuss performance

• Lead the design and production of all sponsorship stadium assets e.g. perimeter boards and match programme ads

• Lead the Account Management of the Women’s sponsorship portfolio and rights delivery

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential
• Minimum 4 years’ experience working in a hospitality or events role
• Demonstrable track record of hospitality/event delivery success
• Leadership of an on-site hospitality team
• Experience of food and beverage selection
• Excellent communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Excellent organisational skills
• Ability to build strong relationships
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment

Desirable
• Experience of live sports events delivery
• Knowledge of sports sponsorship marketplace
• Sales experience

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week including all home fixtures
