Ben Carlile

Prop Ben Carlile followed fellow former Yorkshire Carnegie stars Jack Metcalf and Joe Carpenter to Sale in January 2020 when the Leeds club’s academy folded. 

Ben had already trained with Sale ahead of his move and within weeks of putting pen to paper, he made his debut in the Champions Cup fixture against Glasgow. 

Ben started playing rugby as a youngster at both Pocklington School and Hull Ionians. He rose through the ranks as a Yorkshire academy player, training and playing for England under 17s and 18s and took up his first professional contract with Yorkshire Carnegie in 2018.
