Centre Jack Metcalf joined Sharks in March 2021 from Yorkshire Carnegie after the Coronavirus pandemic led to the disbanding of the Leeds club’s academy.
The highly-rated youngster originally arrived at Carrington on a one-week trial in January, before signing a full-time contract two months later.
Jack made his first appearance for the Sharks’ first team in a Premiership Rugby Cup fixture against Leicester Tigers in November, 2021.
Former Bishop Burton College back Jack’s arrival at Sale wasn’t his first taste of an elite environment, having travelled to Leinster for a week of training at the province prior to joining Sharks.
Speaking to the Rugby Paper about life in Manchester, Jack said: ““The whole culture that Alex (Sanderson) has brought in is immense, it really is. Everyone is buying into it and hopefully it will bring some success.
“The coaches are literally the same as Alex. They are trustworthy, honest and they go into such depth about certain areas of the game and analysing your performance in a game. It’s just a great club to be a part of.”
