Italian international forward Sara Tounesi joined Sale Sharks Women ahead of the 2022/23 Premier15s season.
The former Cremona Rugby and Rugby Colorno lock arrived in Manchester from French side ASM Romagnat and made a scoring debut against Saracens in March 2023.
Sara’s rugby journey began at the relatively late age of 19 but just two years later, in 2017, she made her international debut for Italy in a 24-12 defeat by the USA in Dublin.
She names former Sale and France star Sebastian Chabal as her sporting idol and outside the game, she’s studying for a degree in literature and foreign languages.
