A WORD FROM THE AXE

Welcome back to the Salford Stadium for our penultimate game of the regular Gallagher Premiership season.
We’d love to have one more game in front of you guys, and then who knows, maybe a trip down south together too, but thinking about anything beyond this Friday makes me incredibly anxious because we know how good we’re going to have to be to beat a really good Saracens team led my old friend Mark McCall.

JOE CARPENTER – RISING FROM THE NORTH
FEATURE SPONSORED BY FRANKLYN FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Sharks’ very own hot-Rodd hits 100 club caps this weekend and in Northampton Saints, he’ll be facing the same team he made his debut against as a 19-year-old in 2019.
Back then it was Premiership Rugby Cup points on the line for a young Bevan, but now, as a 24-year-old fully-fledged international and a key part of Alex Sanderson’s squad, the stakes and the expectations are much higher.

THE SHARK TANK – A SUPPORTERS PERSPECTIVE
SPONSORED BY CONNECTUS
Once again, Sale left themselves with it all to do in the final run in of the season. And once again, this team seems to be rising to the (self-inflicted) challenge!
Last time out at home we were facing a Northampton side who have had a strange domestic year, languishing at the wrong end of the table after winning the title the year before. Sale fans who were around for the 2006/07 season might be getting flashbacks. A win was the minimum requirement, and Sale duly delivered, though not without the mandatory squeaky bum time at the end as Saints got themselves to back within three points with five minutes to play. Crucially too, we banked a try bonus point, and with Northampton out of the race for the top four we’ll overlook the fact we gave them two losing bonus points.

25 YEARS OF SHARKS – HALL OF FAME INDUCTION
Tonight’s hall of famer played for Sharks, Saracens, England and the British and Irish Lions during a 16 year career. He was part of the 2006 Premiership winning side and he’s still the Premiership’s record point scorer with 2625 points. You’ll get to welcome him back at half-time – our latest hall of famer is none other than Charlie Hodgson!
