Sharks Female Stars On Hand To Inspire Next Generation Of Aspiring Rugby Players

Sharks Community Trust hosted a sold out Girls Rugby Development Camp at Chester RUFC on Wednesday 26th August and have Sale Sharks Women squad players Georgie Perris-Redding and Lauren Delany on hand to encourage future stars of the game.

Thirty six girls all aged eleven to eighteen years old from eleven local rugby clubs had a surprise in store when they turned up for a Rugby Development Day Camp on Wednesday ran by Sharks Community Trust, the charitable arm of the North’s only Premiership Rugby Club, Sale Sharks. The lucky camp attendees were treated to two of the stars for the newly appointed Premier 15s team in the North West, Sale Shark Women dropping into their sessions.

Local Nantwich based player Georgie Perris-Redding who also works at the Trust and Irish International Lauren Delany were on hand to coach and offer advice to these aspiring players. Both players took part in a question and answer session along with offering playing advice to all players to improve their game.

Lauren Delany, Sale Sharks Women and Irish International commented this “It is fantastic to see a sold out Sale Sharks Girls Rugby Camp and I am thrilled to have been able to give up my time to meet them all. Now, more than ever it is important that we, at Sale Sharks can do all we can to grow the female game and it is something that the whole Club are very excited about. I am really looking forward to seeing how I can get more involved with the Women’s and Girls work at Sale Sharks do at grassroots levels, and having them come to cheer us on when we get the green light to kick off our debut season in the Premier 15s!”
